Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers will host a gathering for family and friends of Shelley from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the funeral home. Celebration services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 30, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Ropesville, with committal services at the Anton Cemetery. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012, at Stonegate Fellowship, Midland. Our beloved Shelley went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 26, 2012, in Midland, after a four year battle with cancer. To view Shelley's tribute page, visit: where you may leave your words on encouragement. Shelley was born July 15, 1967, in Lubbock to Phil and Jacque Reep. Shelley graduated from Ropes High School in 1985, where she was involved in 4-H, enjoyed riding horses and playing basketball. Shelley attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a Master's degree in Education. After graduation, Shelley moved to Midland and taught at Burnett Elementary School and Alamo Jr. High. Throughout her career, she touched many students' lives through her classroom teaching and tutoring. She was an active member of the Texas Classroom Teachers Association and held many positions, most recently receiving the 2011-2012 "Leader of the Year" award. Shelley's survivors include her mother, Jacque; a brother, Cody Reep and wife, Jill; a niece, Riley Reep and a nephew, Randen Reep, all of Ropesville; an uncle, Tim Reep and wife, Diana of Green River, WY; an aunt, Patricia Gutherie and husband, Johnnie of Lubbock and her faithful companion, her dog, Roxie. She was preceded in death by her father, Phil Reep on April 6, 2010. Memorials may be made to the Wrap'n up a Cure, 7411 N. 179, Shallowater, Texas 79363 or MISD Educational Foundation.
