"Buddy" Thompson died suddenly on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Our beloved son, a friend to more people than we can imagine, was an amazing person to so many people. We are so thankful that he believed Jesus Christ was his Savior and we know he is with Him now and that all the cares of this world are no longer an issue for him. Thank you Lord for blessing us with his presence for the time he was with us here. Buddy was born on January 23, 1968, in Midland, Texas. He graduated from Lee High School in 1987. He also attended Midland College. He has been the happiest we have seen him the last two years with his job at Aegis Chemical. Buddy is survived by his mother, Susan Ray and her husband, Bobby "Skipper" Ray; his father, Don Thompson and his wife, Jan Thompson; and also Susan's mother, Pauline Sullivan (94 years old); and two daughters. A reception for family and friends will take place at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held at Midland Bible Church, 5900 Whitman, at 2:00 p.m on Saturday, July 12, 2014. Following the services, the family invites all guests to a reception/party to celebrate Buddy's life with grillin', beans, potato salad, etc. Pick up your cooler with your drinks, etc. to tell stories and be thankful for having known him.
