Morgan Virgil (Keith) Morgan (known as Pete to his family), was born on November 6, 1928 in New Castle, Oklahoma to Lester and Teulum Morgan. At the age of six they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Keith graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1947. After a brief stint working for a Chevrolet dealership in Barstow, California, he returned to Oklahoma in 1950. There he began his career in the oil business working for United Supply and was immediately transferred to Snyder, Texas. On December 24, 1952, Keith married Bervelene Freeman in Brownfield, Texas. They lived in Snyder, Texas until November 1955, and had one son Gaylan. Keith advanced from being a tool salesman in the oilfield to a city salesman in Midland. There they settled and raised his family having two more children, Alan and Kris Morgan. In the late 1950's he became United Supply's district manager for the Permian basin. In 1964, Keith purchased A-1 Ace Rental in Midland and ran it successfully for approximately 10 years. During that time Keith teamed up with Howard Bolling and started doing some machine shop work out of Ace Rental. In November of 1970, Keith married Patricia (Pat) French Bard and raised her daughter, Gina Bard Opheim as one of his own. In 1974, Keith and Howard started B and M Machine Shop in Midland. Together Keith, Howard and their sons manufactured wellhead equipment, oilfield parts and drill pipe. Sometime later they changed the name to B and M Oil Tool Company. Around 1985, Keith bought out Howard's shares in the company. The company still operates today as a successful family owned oil and mining tool company with worldwide sales. After Pat's death in 1994, Keith and Bervelene remarried in 1998. They happily shared their lives together with the four children and enjoyed their second chance until his passing. Keith attended Kelview Heights Baptist Church early on and later attended Midland Christian Fellowship and Cornerstone Christian Fellowship. He was active in the Lions Club for many years, and also volunteered his time with Meals On Wheels here in Midland. Keith loved to square dance, play dominos, and socialize in the evenings because during the work day he was all business. He enjoyed taking the family camping anytime he could get away. Keith enjoyed cooking on his custom "3 Beers Morgan" barbecue pit for family and friends. He always had extra for any of his children's friends that would show up. It has been said that Keith mentored many of the friends of his children and was like a second father to them. After Keith retired, traveling and spending time at the lake house fishing and visiting with family and friends was always a given. Keith enjoyed spending time with not only his own family and anyone else who might drop by. As Will Rogers once said "A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet" and Keith lived his life that way. Keith is preceded in death by his parents, Lester James Morgan and Teulum Haun Morgan; wife, Patricia French Morgan; mother in law, Iris Moore Morgan; brothers, David F. Morgan of California and James N. Morgan of Oklahoma.
