Wanda Lenelle Haynes Simpson, 78, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 4, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Midland, with David Johnson officiating. Lenelle was born October 27, 1935, to Edna Paulene and Reverend J. Roy Haynes in Rising Star, Texas. She married Deane Simpson on August 21, 1955 in Ackerly, Texas. They moved to Midland in 2011 after spending the previous 42 years in Hobbs, New Mexico. Lenelle was a lifetime servant in her church. She owned Lenelle's Bookkeeping for 22 years in Hobbs, New Mexico, and New-Tex Lab for nine years, also in Hobbs. The last two years of Lenelle's life were spent at the Younger Center at Manor Park, which has prompted the family to request that any contributions be directed towards Alzheimer's research or an Alzheimer's facility of your choosing. She is survived by her loving husband of almost 59 years, Deane Simpson; son, Berry Simpson and wife, Cindi; grandson, Byron Simpson; granddaughter, Katie Noss and husband, Drew; great granddaughters, Madden and Landry Noss; son, Carrol Simpson and wife, Jennifer; granddaughters, Mieiz and Evan Simpson; sister, Jeneane Porter; and her brother, James Haynes.
