William E. "Bill" Moler, 86, passed away Tuesday February 4, 2014. He was born March 27, 1927 in Yates Center, Kansas, the son of Dick Moler and Winnie Robison. At age 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during the latter years of World War II. He lived in San Francisco for 25 years and came to Midland in 1968. He was a master craftsman at restoring and refinishing furniture and later owned and operated A-1 Office Furniture. Bill was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Suez Shrine Club, during which time he held and served many positions. He was also a member of Chamber of Commerce, M-Squad and a longtime member of High Sky Wing of the CAF. He is survived by Lois Guthrie, his constant companion and soul mate for the past seven years. Other survivors include a brother and two sisters, son Bill Moler, Jr. and granddaughter Amber, along with two great granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife LaVerne. Family will be receiving friends tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. Funeral service is set for Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers for the service will be Jeff Ryan, Matt Jordan, Chad Jordan, John Griffin, John Cox and Paul Klein. Funeral service is under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
