Anne Liscum, age 92, was born in Oelwein, Iowa on November 29, 1921. She passed away on February 21, 2014. Anne, being raised on an Iowa farm, loved, even to the end, sharing her memories of taking care of chickens and other farm animals, and attending school in a one room school house, always raising her hand to share her answers with the class. During her earthly life, and as long as she was able, Anne enjoyed gardening, attending NARF meetings, annual credit union dinners and West Texas Kennel Club meetings, where she served as secretary for many years. As long as she was able, Anne was a faithful Lutheran church goer. Anne had a love and a gift for successfully investing in real estate. She had a sincere interest for each tenant, one of whom has lived in a house for 25 years. Anne enjoyed showing and breeding Chihuahuas, and she had many champions over the years. She shared the hobby of growing African violets with her family. She worked as a volunteer for Reach to Recovery. She loved hosting or organizing family reunions where she often saw all of her grandchildren and great -grandchildren. She taught, by example, how to raise a family. She dearly loved the many caregivers of Home Hospice, the Younger Unit at Manor Park, Grace Lutheran Church, dear friends and her immediate and extended family, who faithfully visited her in Texas and in her last years of life. Anne never doubted that her eternal home was with her Lord Jesus Christ and God was with her throughout her earthly life. Anne is preceded in death by her husband La Don Liscum and her son Van Liscum. Anne is survived by her children, Don Liscum of Midland, Gerry Howard of Midland, and Becky Rosson of Van, nephew Ron Scott of Nevada, Iowa, and many cousins. Grandchildren are Tom, Stephen, Teresa, Randall, David, Shelly, Melissa, Tina, Casey, Laura, Andrew, Natasha, Rebecca, Kristen, Ben, and their wonderful spouses and families. Anne had 31 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. A family visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2014, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Ellis Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, February 24, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church with internment following at Resthaven Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be given to Grace Lutheran Church, Home Hospice and the Alzheimer's Foundation. Services entrusted to Ellis Funeral Home of Midland.
