Gerald Edmund Howard, 88, passed away March 22, 2014. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home in Keller. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. Gerald was born in Ashland, Kansas on December 13, 1925. He served in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne during World War II and survived the Battle of the Bulge. He had served as a deacon of Memorial Christian Church and was the owner of Howard's Drafting and Technical Services for 20 years, 1974-1994. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Alice; son, Gary Howard and wife, Deborah; daughters, Diana Odom and husband, Greg, and Susan Smith and husband, Dan; grandchildren, Paul Howard and wife, Rachel, Stephanie Askins and husband, Cooper, Morgan Harvey and husband, Mike, Waide Odom, Bethany Smith and husband, Jake, and Micah James and wife, Angela; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Zoie, Kylee, Kaden, Elliott, and two more on the way.
