Wanda Lee Terry Franke, 89 of Midland, TX passed away on Tuesday evening, March 25, 2014 in Santa Fe, NM. She was born September 18, 1924 to Eula Mae Slonaker and John Guy Terry in Plainview, TX. Wanda graduated from Pascal High School in Fort Worth, TX and Texas Tech University with a degree in Home Economics. She married Edward Denis Franke in Brownfield, TX on August 15, 1953. Teaching in the local schools, she was department head of the Home Economics Department in Brownfield, TX. Continuing her career in Midland she taught social studies and home economics for almost thirty years before she retired with MISD. Besides being well remembered as a teacher, she was an upholsterer, potter, homemaker, painter, genealogist, and jeweler. She was a past member of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution. She is preceded in death by parents and husband. She is survived by her brother John Guy Terry Jr. and wife Manda of Tow, TX; daughter Elizabeth Ann Franke Longoria, husband Abel and their children Michael and Derick of Keller, TX; son Robin Edward Elliott Franke, wife Monica and their children Natalie, Caroline, and Conor of Santa Fe, NM; son Jon Albert Franke, wife Rebecca and children Jon, Joshua, and Jenna of Pennsylvania and Florida. Family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. A graveside service is set for Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Resthaven Memorial Park. Graveside service is under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
