Arcadio Galindo Granado, 88, died Monday, March 31, 2014 at Midland Senior Care that morning. He was born in Mexico, January 11, 1926 and is the son of the late Faustino and Luisa Granado. He was one of 11 brothers and sisters. In March 1950, Arcadio married Gloria Martinez Granado and lived in Loving, New Mexico and they have celebrated 64 years of marriage this past month. In 1957, Arcadio and Gloria moved to Midland, Texas and together raised seven sons. During his time in Midland, Arcadio was employed by the City of Midland and worked in the water department and retired after 25 years of dedicated service. Throughout his life in Midland, Arcadio was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He enjoyed serving the greater community through his cooking and catering and has won many first place awards for several years from the Annual MexTex Menudo Cook-off and the East Side Lions Club, of which he was a member. After retirement, Arcadio was a devout member of Casa de Amigos and had a passion for serving others. Arcadio is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Martinez Granado; his seven sons and their spouses, Fernando and Lucia Granado, Candelario Granado, the late Octavio Granado, Jesus and Lucy Granado, Roberto and Ziola Granado, Arcadio, Jr. and Cristina Granado, and Faustino Granado; three brothers, seven sisters, 23 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1401 E. Garden Lane Midland, Texas 79701, officiated by Father David Herrera. Burial services will be conducted at Fairview Cemetery 1400 N. Pecos following the church services. Pallbears for the service will be Mark Granado, Shawn Granado, Celina Granado, Robert Granado Jr, Christoher Granado. Oscar Granado, Javier Granado, and Jacob Granado. Honorary pallbearers David Granado, Linda Granado, Melinda Granado, Lori Granado, Emma Granado, Mia Granado, Albert Zarate, and Gilbert Zarate.
