Gene M. Blalock, 69, of Midland passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 in Midland. Viewing will be held from 9:00AM - 8:00PM and the family will receive friends and family from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Thursday, May 15, 2014; Graveside Services will be held on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10:30AM. Both will be held at American Heritage Cemetery and Funeral Home in Midland on North FM 1788. Gene was born on January 4, 1945 to Fred Maurice Blalock & Gladys Irene Ray in Ft. Stockton, Texas. Gene was a very hard worker. He owned his own oilfield consulting business for many years. Even when he was not at work, he always found a project around the house to be doing. He enjoyed watching detective shows and boxing matches, playing at the pool halls, and spending time with his family. Most of all, he loved his life companion Jean and enjoyed being Pookie to his two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Gene is survived by his companion, Jean Inman; daughter Jeana Davidson and husband Kirkland Davidson; son Charles R. Supak; granddaughter Lacey Davidson; grandson Cody Davidson and wife Sarah Davidson; great grandsons Paden and Jaxon Davidson; and numerous extended family members. Gene is preceded in death by his father Fred Blalock; his mother Gladys Ray; brothers John and James Blalock; and sisters Ruth Sims and Lois Newsom. Arrangements are under the direction of American Heritage Cemetary and Funeral Home.
