God sent his Angels to bring another Angel home on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Christine Posl Thames was born on June 24, 1938, to Johann and Aloisia Posl in Schwarzaid, Czechoslovakia, and was raised in Germany from the age of four Years old when the war forced them out of Czechoslovakia. Christine had two children, Roland Frisch and Thomas Thames. In 1966 she met the love of her life, Robert Thames and planned to marry, but decided to wait until he returned from Vietnam. They were married December 23, 1969, in Germany. After being Stationed in numerous places (Fort Knox, Fort Belvoir, Fort Bliss and Bryant/College Station) they then moved to Midland, Texas in 1986, where he retired as Command Sergeant Major Robert Thames. Christine received several Awards from the Department of the Army for her Community Services for the Military. Christine loved to take care of family and friends; she was an awesome cook and was very talented in arts and crafts. She loved playing Bingo and an occasional ride to Hobbs, New Mexico for the day! Christine also loved planting and tending to her flowers, with red roses being her favorite. Christine traveled to many places such as Spain, Italy, France, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. Christine also traveled to all States in the United States of America except for Eleven States. Christine was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. Christine is preceded in death by her parents, Johann and Aloisia Posl; her son, Thomas Thames; her sister, Angelika Konig; and her brother, Heinz Posl (all of Germany). Christine is survived by her husband, Robert Thames of Midland, Texas; son, Roland Frisch (Elke); Grandchildren, Dominique, Miriam, and Phillipp; her sister, Helen Sollner (Erich); three nieces, Angie Streit (Klaus), Rita Lill (Klaus) and son Markus, Patricia Geiger (Reinhard) and daughter Nicole; sister in law, Erika Posl and Daughter Sandra all of Germany. Pallbearers are Johnny Thames, Ricky Thames, Dwain Thames, Mark Thames, Lee Edward Adams, and Drew Childers. Honorary pallbearers are Eddie Grant, Joey Thames, Bob Thames Jr., and Jerry Thames. The family would also like to thank Home Hospice for Their support and care in Christine's final days. Rosary will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel 2508 N. Big Spring St., Midland, Texas, 79705 with visitation following from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday June 26, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home with graveside services following.
