Lori Sanchez-McKee went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas. She was born September 26, 1967 to the late Arturo and Hope Sanchez in Ft. Stockton, Texas. Lori married her soul-mate, Jasper McKee, III, on February 1, 2014. Lori worked with MISD for over 20 years. Lori lived for her family. She had the purest soul, unlike anyone we knew. She is truly going to be missed. Lori was a faithful Dallas Cowboys fan. She was diagnosed with MDS in April 2013. Her son donated bone marrow for the transplant she received March 12, 2014. No matter what she went through, she never complained one bit. She was truly happy to come home; we were lucky to have her here for two weeks. A true Christian woman, Heaven gained the perfect angel. Lori is survived by her husband, Jasper McKee, III; her children, Stephanie Sanchez, Christopher Mendez and Marcus Sanchez, all of Midland, Texas; one grandson, Brendon Mendez; one sister, Penny Gonzales of Midland Texas; two brothers, Arthur Sanchez of Midland Texas, and Eddie Sanchez of Lubbock, Texas. Lori is preceded in death by parents, Arturo and Esperanza (Hope) Sanchez; and by both paternal and maternal grandparents. Pallbearers are Isaac Carrasco, Leroy McKee, Melvin McKee, Eric Ramon, Adan Sanchez and Robert Sanchez. Honorary pallbearers are her nephews, Christian Sanchez and Lee Gonzales. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Baylor Hospital and Texas Oncology. We would also like to thank the staff at Travis Elementary for all the support they have given her through her treatment. We couldn't have done it without y'all. An evening service for Lori Ann will be held tonight at 6:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel. Funeral service is set for Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Lee St. Church of Christ, with Minister Terrence Crisp officiating. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Funeral service is under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel.
