Don Seawright, 70, of Midland, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 25, 2014. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Don was a Baptist and a member of the Midland community for almost 60 years. Eddie Don Seawright was born on March 13, 1944 in Brady, Texas to Carl and Beaulah "Boots" (Hughes) Seawright. Don grew up in Mason, Texas and moved to Midland during the oil boom in the 1950's. Don married the love of his life, Lynda Sessions, on July 27, 1963, in Midland. He owned and managed Daddy Don's Steakhouse as well as the Last Chance Saloon. Don also worked as a salesman in the oil patch before retiring. Don loved horses and competing in team sorting events. Don won his last 2 competitions at the age of 70. Don is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, Lynda Seawright; his son, Randy Seawright and wife, Debbie; his daughter, Kim Demerson; his grandchildren, Cory Seawright; Casey Seawright and his fiancée, Halee Walsh; Chandler Seawright; Trevor Demerson and Brenna Demerson; his great grandchildren, Cameron Seawright and Carter Seawright; his sister-in-law, Patsy Seawright; his beloved horse, Lady Bug; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom loved and will miss him dearly. Don was preceded by his parents, Carl and Boots Seawright; his brother, Tommie K. Seawright and his sister, Wanda Seawright. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Chapel.
