L.D. Howell, Jr. was born in Midland, Texas on June 18, 1950 to L.D. Howell, Sr. and Eula Mae Howell. He passed away on August 4, 2014. He was a resident of Midland for 64 years. He attended the Midland Public Schools District. He was preceded in death by his father, L. D. Howell, Sr.; brother, Harvey McClendon, Jr.; and sisters, Joyce McClendon and Evelyn Johnson. To cherish his memory he leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Sharon Howell; three children, Sonya Howell (Baltimore, Maryland), L. D. Howell, III (Heather) of Denver, Colorado, and Glen Howell (Austin, Texas.); four step-children, Avis Howard (Tyrone) of California, Nevatiny Berry (Odessa, Texas), Randall Royal, Jr. and Patrick Royal (Dallas); 10 grandchildren, Angelique Dudley, Lisa Howell, Melonie Howell, Savannah Howell, Desiree Howell, Kathryn-Rose, Glen Howell, Jr., Isis Howell, Jamauri Howell, Anaya Howell; six step - grandchildren, Navojanae Berry, Sharavion Anderson, Nasya Berry, Nevatiny Berry, Jr., Zacarya Royal, and Kye Royal. He is also survived by his mother, Eula Mae Howell (Midland); five brothers, Charles McClendon (Colorado City, Texas), Wallace Howell (Mary) of Midland, Eddie Howell (Mary) of Houston, Rickey Howell (San Angelo, Texas), Tony Howell (Faye); three sisters, Helen Harris (Jackie), Velma Mackey (Edward), and Margaret Cooks, all of Midland; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Memorial service is set for Monday, August 11, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at True-Lite Christian Fellowship Church. Interment will follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Funeral service is under the direction of Jackie Warren Funeral Home.
