Dixie Beth Brantley, 68 of Midland, TX passed away at her home August 5th, 2014. A memorial service will be held at her church home, St. Marks Methodist Church, at 10 am. Dixie was born October 14th 1945 in Abilene, TX to Wanda and Wilbur Jackson. She moved to Midland in 1950 where she began her life with her family. She graduated from Midland High School in 1964. She worked in the banking world all of her life as a bookkeeper at Commercial State and Chase Bank. She was an avid gardener and gave life to whatever could grow. She always had the most beautiful flowers in the neighborhood. She loved all flowers and never just had one favorite. She was a member of WOW (Women Of Worship) with First Methodist Church. She has been a member of St. Marks Methodist church for 40 plus years. Dixie was a one of a kind of lady and if you ever came in contact with her you would never forget who Dixie was. She moved to Santa Rita Senior Apartments in 2006. This brought so much joy to her life, getting to make new lifelong friends. She enjoyed getting to do all the activities like Bingo, birthday parties, exercising, riding the bus to Wal-Mart, and her favorite was sitting on the porch with her friend Sherry Hobbs and just talking about life. Dixie was preceded in death by son Kurt Mason Brantley; parents, Wanda and Wilbur Jackson and brothers Clifton Jackson and Jackie Don Jackson. She is survived by her children Robert Brantley and wife Susan of Whitney, TX and her daughter Monica Neatherlin of Midland, TX; Grandchildren are April Neatherlin of Midland, TX, Brittany Etherton & husband Jason Odessa, TX, Kristan Neatherlin and fiancé Tyler Thomas Wink, TX, Ryan Brantley and wife Chelsey Tarzan TX, Johnny Neatherlin Jr. Midland, TX, Whitney Brantley of Whitney, TX, Wade Brantley of Whitney, TX and Paige Brantley of Cary, North Carolina; Great grandchildren are Jimmy and Alexia Etherton both of Odessa, TX, Ty Mason Neatherlin and Wink, TX and Rylee Koontz of Amarillo, TX.
