Celia Revilla Gonzales, 88, of Midland, was called to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 16, 2014, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. She was born in Big Spring, Texas on December 4, 1925, to the late Antonio Revilla and Maria Marquez. She was raised in Stanton, Texas, where she married Reynaldo Jasso in 1940. After being widowed in 1950, she met Leonardo Gonzales, Sr. and was blessed with love again - they married in 1955. As a young adult, she developed a strong work ethic, mastering many different trades and qualities, becoming a successful entrepreneur. She will be remembered for her dedication, passion, hard work, integrity, generous heart, and love for her family. She will be greatly missed. We find strength and comfort in knowing she is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Selestino Jasso; two brothers, Jose Reyes and Juan Revilla; and by a sister, Socorro Gonzales. She is survived by three sons, Richard Jasso, Sr. and his wife Corina, Leonard Gonzales, Jr. and his wife Mary, and Steven Gonzales, all of Midland; a daughter, Ruth Rodriguez and her husband Joe of Grand Prairie, Texas; two sisters, Leonor Rodriguez of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Manuela Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; grandson, Lee Curnutte Gonzales of Midland and his daughter, Christian Ryan Curnutte who she raised as her own; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren. A prayer service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home and Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1801 Garden Lane, Midland, Texas, with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park North on 4614 N. Big Spring St. Pallbearers will be various generations of grandsons, Richard Jasso, Jr., Randy Gonzales, Daniel Jasso, Matthew Munoz, Austin Roberts, and Robert Olgin. Honorary pallbearers will be great, great grandsons Nikolas Hernandez and Joseph Hernandez.
