Zinita G. Sawyer, 81, of Los Angeles, California passed away peacefully on September 25, 2013 at her home surrounded by family. Born February 27, 1932, she lived most of her life in the Los Angeles area, but enjoyed spending time in Midland to visit her "son the doctor" and his family. One of Dr. Sawyer's close friends summed it up perfectly, "She was very special and you were lucky to have her as your mom. Thanks for sharing her with all of us!" Zinita, better known as Grandma or Auntie Neenee, was a proud wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all of her children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Los Angeles at 9:00 o'clock in the morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the California State University Northridge (CSUN) Center of Achievement. Please visit their web site at www.csun.edu/hhd/centersachieve.html and select the "Giving" tab.
