Calvin Bryant, of Midland, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007.

He was born September 30, 1930 to R.H. Bryant and Lula Queen Strain Bryant in Anton, Texas. After graduating from Whitharral High School in Whitharral, Texas, he joined the Air Force and was stationed at AFB-Erding Base in Germany. A Staff Sergeant with a specialty in communications, Calvin also served in France. On June 26, 1955, he married Helen Ruth Brock in Levelland, Texas. From 1965 until 1979 he owned and operated Harris Acoustics of Midland Inc. Calvin became a Christian at age 9 and loved the Lord completely. He was a member and deacon of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and was a Sunday School and Bible teacher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Parrish Wayne Bryant, and one brother, Gilbert Leman Bryant.

Calvin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen Ruth Bryant of Midland, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Paula Sue Schaus and Marlon Schaus of Rio Rancho, N.M.; son and daughter-in-law, Perry Louis Bryant and Jenny Bryant of Kansas City, MO; son and daughter-in-law, Pat Leonard Bryant and Donna Bryant of Midland, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis Alane Mason and Reverend John Mason of Midland, TX; son and daughter-in-law, Prentice William Bryant and Sandra Bryant of Midland, TX; step-mother, Edith Bryant of Levelland, TX; three brothers, Ralph Bryant of Laredo, TX; Ronnie Bryant of Midland, TX; and Butch Bryant of Levelland, TX; two sisters, Mildred Throckmorten of Colorado; and Linda Holt of Midland, TX. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. To place online condolences visit www.mem.com.
