Margaret Kathleen Armatage (Sellentin) quietly passed away on November 24, 2012 having enjoyed a magnificent life. Margaret born in Invermere, BC on November 2, 1918 was an exceptional woman. As a young entrepreneur she organised, owned and operated Mayfair Motor Courts at Kamloops, BC. She loved golf and learned the sport at Jasper Park Lodge. Margaret was an active player throughout her life and most recently was a member at the Seymour Golf Club. She travelled the world and enjoyed its pleasures with the people and places she discovered.
On the Sellentin side of Margaret's family, she was predeceased by her brother Jack Sellentin and her sister Betty George.
Margaret's surviving Sellentin family members are Ernie and Kassandra Sellentin the son and daughter of Jack; and Keath Hutton, the son of Betty. Ernie has 2 adult children Reid and Serena and he and his wife Johanne have a daughter Olivia. Keath and his wife Georgina have 2 children Erin and Adam.
Margaret is survived by a step daughter Roberta Ireland, the daughter of Margaret's former and predeceased husband, Ted Thompson, Presque Isle Maine, USA.
On the Armatage side of Margaret's family, she was predeceased by her husband Colin in 1998. Colin is survived by a daughter Lynn Third and two sons, Dennis and Bill. Lynn and her husband Brett have 2 children Laura and Robbie. Dennis and his wife Mary have 2 children Marnie and Tracey. Bill and his wife Marcelle have 2 children Jennifer and Sean.
The "Grand Lady" was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star and enjoyed until very recently participated in the North Shore Support Group's regular meetings. Margaret will be remembered at a memorial service to be held at St. Christopher's Anglican Church, 1068 Inglewood Avenue on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00am, with the reception to follow.
The family thanks Josephine Cabuang and her team of marvelous Caregiver's for their kindness and loving care given to Margaret in the past four and a half years. In lieu of flowers kindly donate to the Covenant House to enable it to provide care and assistance to the needed community that it constantly serves and particularly during this Christmas Season.
