JOSEPHINE FLIPPEN

MOUNT AIRY — Miss Josephine Flippen, 79, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at Northern Hospital. Miss Flippen was born in Surry County on Sept. 13, 1934, to the James Odes and Nannie Bell Money Flippen. She was retired from Roses and was a faithful member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Magdalene "Maggie" and Randy Scott of Graham; a niece; two nephews; and several cousins. In addition to her parents, Miss Flippen was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Irene Flippen. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Haymore Baptist Church by the Rev. Robert McCrary. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
