GREENSBORO — Lottie Lane Dix, 82, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Carriage House in Greensboro. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Barrett officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at Oakdale Cemetery in Mount Airy. Mrs. Dix was born in Surry County on Feb. 4, 1931. She was a member of Pleasant Garden Baptist Church and retired from Forsyth County Schools as a cafeteria manager. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Elmer and Mary Martha Nichols Key; brothers, Bruce Key, Reese Key, Worth Key, Wade Key, Gene Key, and June Key; and a sister, Betty Putnam. Lottie is survived by her husband, William Joseph Dix of Greensboro; a son, Jim Dix of Raleigh; a daughter, Cathy Dix of Cedar Point; a brother, Frank Key of Mount Airy; a sister, Linda Pleasants of Raleigh; and granddaughters, Bridget and Megan Dix. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Forbis and Dick in Pleasant Garden.
