PILOT MOUNTAIN — Nedra Cooke Shelton, 64, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013. She was born on March 29, 1949, to the late Foster and Eleanor Parries Cooke. Nedra was an administrative assistant at Lees-McRae College on the campus of Surry Community College. She also made many friends during her time working at the Derby Restaurant, Armtex Inc., and Pilot Knob Park. She was a talented artist and enjoyed spending time with her friends, as well as the children and grandchildren. Nedra also enjoyed the occasional round of golf before her health declined. Surviving to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Teddy; a daughter, Suzanne Fuehler; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Kim Shelton, and Joel and Keri Shelton; seven grandchildren, Rami Shelton, Ada Shelton, Alex Shelton, Karenna Shelton, Clara Fuehler, Miles Fuehler and Linnie Fuehler; two sisters, Ann Willard and Brenda Chilton; and one brother, Clindon "Wyatt" Cooke. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Faye Bottoms; and one brother, Doug Cooke. Funeral services will be on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Cook officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
