Mr. Franklin Lewis Bode, 77, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Guilford County on March 16, 1939, to the late John Francis Bode and Beryl Holyfield Bode Warren. Mr. Bode was a retired insurance agent, a well-known Old-Time musician, and was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and will be dearly missed by all his family and many friends. Mr. Bode is survived by his wife, Ginger Sykes Bode of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl Hale and Daniel of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Lewis Bode and Tammy of Cana, VA; grandchildren, Emily Hale and husband Travis Pike, Sara Hale and partner John Strickland, Jr., Lora Bode and fiancé Eric Hill; brothers, John Bode and special friend Darlene of Mount Airy, Tobie Warren of Philadelphia, PA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bode was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Bode. A graveside service will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Mr. Paul Bunke officiating.
