PILOT MOUNTAIN — Mr. Hobert Franklin "Frank" Simmons, 83, of 156 Hathaway Lane, Pilot Mountain, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mr. Simmons was born in Surry County on April 24, 1930, to the late Hobert and Ola Cook Simmons. Mr. Simmons was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict, and was retired from R.J. Reynolds. He is survived by his wife, Chrystal Turman Simmons of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Marcus Phillips of Hillsville, Va., and Lisa and Gerald Kearns of Winston-Salem; two grandsons, Neal Willard and his wife Heather of Pilot Mountain and Jonathan Willard of Charlotte; one great-grandson, Nixon Franklin Willard; one sister, Juanita Anauo of Alabama; one brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Barbara Simmons of Lilburn, Ga.; a half sister, Sondra Folsom and husband, Mark, of Walnut Cove; and a half brother, Steve Simmons of Clemmons. There will be no formal service for Mr. Simmons. The family will be receiving friends at the home 156 Hathaway Lane, Pilot Mountain. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kate B.
