LOWGAP — Mr. James Anason Kingsbury, 83, of Lowgap, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013, at his daughter's home. Mr. Kingsbury was born in Surry County on April 14, 1930, to Anderson Eldridge and Beatrice Hutson Kingsbury. He proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Janice Paige and Ricky Beane of Winston-Salem; a son, James Steven Kingsbury of the home; grandchildren, Twain Steven Kingsbury and fiancée Kristin Townsend, Cody Holyfield, Loretta Anderson, Preston Murray and Shaun Holyfield; great-granddaughters, Marie Dawn Kingsbury, Sara Kingsbury and Angel Faye Kingsbury; special cousins, Sonny Westmoreland and Barbara Coe; and very special friends at Brenda's Kountry Kitchen. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kingsbury was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Mae Jones Kingsbury; a sister, Peggy Baker; a brother, Junior Kingsbury; and a daughter-in-law, Pat Kingsbury. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday July 22, 2013, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church cemetery with military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Mount Airy Post 2019 and Pilot Mountain Post 9436.
