MOUNT AIRY — Mrs. Josephine Linville Bennett Coleman Shinault, 84, of Mount Airy, died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at Bowers Hospice Home in Beckley, W.Va. She was born June 15, 1929, in Forsyth County to the late James Robert and Laura Marsh Linville. Mrs. Shinault was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Shinault is survived by her husband, Clyde Shinault Sr. of Sophia, W.Va.; daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Susan and Thomas Dunning of Mount Airy, Myrtle and Walter Koegel of Toms River, N.J., Lois Jean Bennett and Joseph Dupont of Belmont, N.H., and Christine Bennett Waskiel and Ben Hiatt of Mocksville; sons and daughters-in-law, William Lee and Sandy Bennett of Laurinburg, James Howard and Lisa Bennett of Americus, Ga., Herbert Joseph and Beth Bennett of Mount Airy, Richard Dale Bennett of Mount Airy, Thomas William Lee and Leni Bennett of Jackson, N.J., and Allen Jackson and Melissa Bennett of Stokesdale; stepson, Clyde Shinault Jr. and wife, Patricia, of Sophia, W.Va.; 28 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Wain Cole of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shinault was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Lee Bennett; second husband, Kenneth Ray Coleman; son, John Spencer Bennett; and 14 brothers and sisters. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Howell Funeral Chapel of Mount Airy, with interment to follow at Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
