Mildred Marie Puckett "Mick" Felts

DOBSON — Mrs. Mildred Marie "Mick" Puckett Felts, 88, of Dobson, passed away peacefully on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Surry County on July 25, 1926, to the late Ray Stone and Nora Gunnell Puckett. Mrs. Felts was retired from Spencer's Incorporated and was of the Baptist faith. Left to cherish her memories are her loving and devoted daughter, Ellen Rogers of Dobson and fiancé Larry Law of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Mickey and wife Marcia Rogers of Mount Airy and Jason "Jake" Rogers and fiancé Whittney Anthony of Mount Airy; six great-grandchildren, Destiny Frye, Gracie Rogers, Daven Davis, Brady Davis, Cheyenne Rogers and Luke Rogers; many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Felts was preceded in death by husband, Vauda Lawrence Felts; a sister, Frances Hall; and a brother, Douglas Puckett. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home of Dobson by Pastor Mickey Rogers, with burial to follow in the Gunnell Family Cemetery in Ararat, Virginia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 pm until the hour of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, in memory of Mrs. Felts, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff of the Woltz Hospice Home, and to Dr. Roger Kerley for their loving and compassionate care.
