MOUNT AIRY — Ralph Coe Taylor, 85, a loving husband and wonderful father, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013. He was born in Mount Airy, on Aug. 29, 1928. Ralph has been a Hampton, Va., resident for more than 62 years. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Ralph was a Korean War veteran and retired from the Newport News Shipyard, department 038, as an x-ray technician in 1991. Ralph was preceded in death by his daughter; Terenda Patterson. Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Betty Jean Taylor; children, Larry Taylor and his wife, Pat, Cindy White, Marty Taylor and his wife, Mischell, and Danny Taylor and his wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Mark, Johnny, Emma, Brian, Joey, Kurry, Kim, Jacob, Jay, Sonja, Daniel and Jessica; great-grandchildren, Christen, Cara, Christopher, Chandler, Joey, Jacob, Allison, Jonathan, Khloe, Cayden, Aubree, Alexis and Porter; his sister-in-law, Mary Marie Lamothe; and his dog, Lucky. The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with public interment to follow at Hampton Memorial Gardens.
