CANA, Va. — Mrs. Ruby Jewell Simpson Crotts, 71, of Cana, Va., widow of Mr. Curtis Lee Crotts, passed away Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Wake Forest Universit Baptist Medical Center. She was born April 5, 1942, in Surry County to the late Cecil Martin Simpson and Forest Eden Cook Simpson. She was retired from Spencer's Inc. and was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church. Surviving are five sons Curtis Crotts Jr. of Cana, Va., Tim Crotts, Bobby Lineback, Jimmy Lineback and Eddie Lineback, all of Mount Airy; and a daughter, Fern Lineback Wall, of Mount Airy; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Bonnie Hamlin of Sophia, Treva Simpson, Darlene Cook and Mary Ruth Cook, all of Pilot Mountain; and three brothers, David Cook, Steve Cook and Larry Cook, all of Pilot Mountain. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Crotts was preceded in death by a sister, Linda. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, at Solid Rock Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev Roy Quesinberry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
