SILOAM — Lucy Aileen Wall Key, 88, of Siloam, NC, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Central Continuing Care. She was born in Surry County, NC, on October 15, 1925, to the late Joseph Wilson Wall and Eunice Ellen Danley Wall. Lucy was a member of Pine Hill Friends Church, a homemaker, a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving to cherish her memory are two brothers-in-law, Ernest Key and wife Ozelle; Granville Key and wife, Rosetta; three sisters-in-law, Roxie Crissman, Ruby Hall, and Myrtle Wall; several nieces and nephews; and special nieces, Irene Whitaker and Jackie March. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vance Albert Key; a daughter, Frances Simpson and husband, Timothy Simpson; a granddaughter, Brittany Simpson; a son, Timothy Key; her parents; four sisters, Anna Wall; Ethel Whitaker, Josie Whitaker, and Evelyn Cranfill; and three brothers, Charlie Wall, Roy Wall and Ernest Wall. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, May 9. 2014, at 2:00 P.M with Pastor Rodney Powell, Rev, Lem Sprinkle, and Bro. Jerry Pardue officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Hill Friends Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 P.M. on May 9, 2014 at Pine Hill Friends Church and at other times at the home of Ernest and Ozelle Key, 531 Quaker Church Road, Siloam, NC. The family extends a special thank you to the staff and doctors at Central Continuing Care for their professional, compassionate care and the love extended to Lucy during her 18 years as a resident there.
