ARARAT, Va. — Mrs. Tammy T. Harrison, 46, of Ararat, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her home. She was born in Patrick County on July 22, 1967, to Nancy Claudette Franklin of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, and William N. Thompson Jr. of Stuart. Mrs. Harrison was a devoted teacher of the fourth and fifth grades at Blue Ridge Elementary School in Ararat for 23 years. Other than her parents, Tammy is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, Arthur F. Harrison III of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Karen T. Putnam and husband, Frank W. of Stuart; nephews, Philip T. Putnam and William L. Putnam; her stepfather, John S. Franklin of Point Pleasant; and family friend, Wanda Ayers-Slate of Stuart. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Blue Ridge Elementary School.
