Louis A. Kaffenberger, age 69 of Mt. Vernon, died Saturday morning July 7, 2012 at his home. He was born November 17, 1942 in Mt. Vernon, the son of Louis J. and Myrtle M. (Kinder) Kaffenberger.

Louis had worked as a truck driver and farmer. He was a member of St. Matthews Catholic Church.
He is survived by 1 sister and brother-in-law, Sharon J. and Eugene Miller of Bakersfield, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His caregiver, Betty Irizarry; and Tony Stallings, the son of his longtime companion Alice Stallings who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Scharlotte D. Muller and Wanda Marx.
Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday July 13, 2012 at Park Lawn Cemetery in Evansville. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday July 12th at the Austin~Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon.
