Louise Hall

Ethel Louise (Key) Hall, 97, of Mt. Vernon, passed away December 24, 2017 at Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born December 5, 1920 in White County, IL to the late William J. and Elizabeth (Gross) Key.

Louise worked at Hedges Elementary in the cafeteria for 12 years. She volunteered at Red Cross Blood Services for many years and received the Volunteer of the Year Award. Louise loved her family dearly. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Hall and 9 of her siblings.

She is survived by her sons, John R. (Barb) Keitel, William G. (Donnella) Hall and Bruce E. Hall; daughters, Martha (Ora) Maddix and Beth (Jim) Gilham; 17 grandchildren, Jason, Julie, Sean, Chris, Kelly, Grant, Greta, Becky, Bill, Brad, Kelly, Harry, Ashley, Courtney, Jeremy, Chad and Christa; and 44 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main St., Mt. Vernon, IN with Rev. Matt Watson officiating and burial to follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the funeral home.

A special Thank you to the Mt. Vernon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Deaconess VNA Hospice for their care and compassion. The family would like to extend a special Thank you to Marilyn Boyer and her family for always being there for Mom.
