Carrollton, Ky.-Betty Tuttle Risk, 72, of Carrollton died, Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Ind.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 13, at the United Methodist Church of Carrollton, with the Rev. Andrew Oakley officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Risk was born, July 10, 1940, in Irvine, Estill County, Ky. to the late Hubert and Bertie Tuttle. She grew up in Versailles, Ky. After moving to Carrollton in 1974, she worked as a secretary at Carroll County High School for 19 years and as an employee of the First National Bank of Carrollton for 12 years.
She was a faithful member of the Carrollton United Methodist Church for 39 years, singing in the choir and serving as church treasurer. She and her close friend Norma Cardwell conducted a Sunday school class at Carrollton Manor for many years.
She loved music and enjoyed singing at church, in community productions and other events.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry A. Risk, she was his loving wife for 51 years; two sons, Allen C. (Joyce) Risk of Morehead, Ky., and David E. (Michele) Risk of Carrollton; granddaughter, Lydia Risk and grandson, Austin Vaught. Other survivors include her brothers, James D. (Shirley) Tuttle of Versailles, Ky., Stephen L. (Lisa) Tuttle of Pittsburgh, Penn.; a sister, Brenda T. (Joe) Barber of Crestwood, Ky.; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her parents and a granddaughter, Tabitha Risk, preceded her in death.
