CARROLLTON, Ky. – Alma Muriel Taylor Welch, 87, of Carroll County, Ky., died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave., Carrollton, with the Rev. Philip Bruce officiating. Burial was in the Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mrs. Welch was born March 31, 1925, in Carroll County, to the late Verni and Mary Alice (Jones) Taylor. She was a retired sales clerk for the former Lerman Brothers Department Store and was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Union Grove Christian Church.
On March 12, 1945, she married Myrle Glenn Welch. They were married 63 years until his death Jan. 28, 2009.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Lynn (Ronald) McCane of Milton, Ky.; a son, Brewier Wayne "Berky" (Tricia) Welch of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; three sisters, Lena Edwards of Milton, Dorothy Williams of Morristown, Tenn., and Lola Vories of Campbellsburg, Ky.; six grandchildren, Steven Eric McCane, Anna Green, Glenn Welch, Jessica Herbert, Megan Welch and Brett Welch; 14 great-grandchildren, Carmen Hankinson, Rebecca Smalley, Taylor Lee McCane, Gabriel Ryan McCane, Danielle McCane, Emma McCane, Cori Green, Addison Herbert, Kate Herbert, Clay Herbert, Oliver Katauskas, Duncan Welch, Audrey Welch and Olive Welch; one great-great-grandchild, Bryson Dale Hankinson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Shafer and Mary Lee Thomas, and four brothers, Roy Gene, Clifford, J.W. and Lloyd Taylor.
