SANDERS, Ky.–Carroll Thomas Hackett, 90, of Sanders, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, in Frankfort, Ky.

Funeral services were be held Saturday, March 22, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton with the Rev. Phillip Case officiating. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. He was born in Trimble County, Ky. on March 31, 1923, to the late Hubert Hackett, Sr. and Ethel Richmond Hackett. Carroll was retired from the U.S. Postal service and was a farmer. He was of the Christian faith, a member of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Board of Directors and the Beef Cattle Association. He had served his country in the U.S. Army Air Cord.
Survivors include his daughter, Carole Bond Hackett and her fiancé', Tony Menechella of Frankfort; two sisters, Joan Young of Carrollton, Ky. and Betty Jean Tomlinson of Worthville, Ky.; a brother, Hubert Hackett, Jr. of Carrollton; several nieces and nephews; and his dear friend, Nancy Ellis of Carrollton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Elois Bond Hackett.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the Carroll County 4-H Camp in care of the funeral home.
