George Pruitt Wethington Sr.


CARROLLTON, Ky. – George Pruitt Wethington Sr., 91, formerly of Lebanon Junction, Ky. died Saturday, April 7, 2018, at Signature Healthcare in Carrollton.
He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Carrollton and former 60 year member of St. Benedict Catholic Church in Lebanon Junction, a 50 year member of the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus and both the Bullitt County and Kentucky Retired Teachers Associations. He was also an Army veteran of World War II.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 11, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Lebanon Junction with burial in St. Clare Cemetery. Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction was entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by two sons, George P. (Rebecca Brenzel) Wethington Jr. and Richard L. (Susan Springate) Wethington, all of Louisville, Ky.; a daughter, Ruth Ann (Tim) Hendrick of Carrollton; five grandchildren, Amanda Coombs, Chris and Haley Hendrick and Richard and David Wethington; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Louise Clements Wethington; his parents, Omby and Bessie Abell Wethington; and his siblings.
