WORTHVILLE, Ky.-James D. Thompson, 79, died Wednesday Feb. 6, 2013, at his home.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday Feb. 19 at 7p.m. at the Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, 215 Fifth Street in Carrollton.
Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Japan as a writer for the Stars and Stripes. After the service he wrote for the Courier Journal then was a financial advisor for the Kentucky Living Magazine. He also wrote for Louisville Bedding and was on their Board of Directors. Mr. Thompson was a 30 year member of the Brown Derby Playhouse in Clarksville, Ind.
Survivors include his wife Ethel; daughter, Jamie; grandson Jimmy; step-son Eddie; step-daughters Dianna, Barbie and Judy; his sister Millie; and sister-in-law Dottie.
His daughter Leslie preceded him in death.
