CARROLLTON, Ky.–Lucille H. Perkinson, 92, of Carrollton, Ky., passed away on Oct. 10, 2017. Visitation will be held at noon on Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at First Baptist Church, Carrollton, where she was a long-time member. The service will follow at 1 p.m. Mrs. Perkinson will be laid to rest beside her husband of 71 years, Forrest Perkinson, at Memorial Gardens in Louisville, Ky.
Mrs. Perkinson was born on March 27, 1925, in La Grange, Ky., one of seven children. She married Forrest F. Perkinson on Nov. 16, 1944, and they had two children, Carolyn S. Barnett (Jim) and Steven R. Perkinson (Kathy). Mrs. Perkinson had four grandchildren, Lindsay DeWald (David), Jamie Sousa (Tim), Kara Perkinson, Lauren Lewellan (Matt), and seven great-grandchildren, Carson, Caroline, and Emersyn DeWald; Sydney and Camryn Sousa; and Layne and Jaxon Lewallan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Perkinson, her parents, Ollie and Lorena Hammond, and her siblings, Lillie Simons, Pauline Porter, Dorothy Tippett, Marvin Hammond, Ed Hammond and Marshall Hammond.
Mrs. Perkinson moved from Louisville to Carrollton in 1960, where she operated a beauty salon, Fashion Tress, for 10 years, then worked in her husband's business until retirement. For the past two years, she resided in Fishers, Ind., where she could be close to her son and granddaughters. Mrs. Perkinson was a people person and had many friends whom she enjoyed. She will be missed.
