CARROLLTON, Ky.-James Roberts McNeal, 86, of Carrollton, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at his home in Carrollton.

Funeral Services will be on Thursday, February 14, at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton with the Rev. Dr. Chris White officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 13, from 5- 8 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Thursday at the church. Tandy-Eckler-Riley, 809 Highland Ave. in Carrollton was entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. McNeal was born March 2, 1926, in Wheatley, Owen County, Ky., the son of the late Siebert J. McNeal and Irene Roberts McNeal. He was an owner of McNeal's Hardware and Appliance Store in Carrollton. He was a graduate of the Carroll County High School and the University of Kentucky having received his Electrical Engineering Degree. He was a member of the Carrollton Rotary Club and the First Baptist Church of Carrollton where he had served as a Deacon. He had served on the First National Bank Board of Directors and the Carrollton City Council.
Mr. McNeal had served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ruth Jones McNeal of Carrollton; a daughter, Nancy Elam of Georgetown, Ky.; two sons, Greg McNeal of Corunna, Ind. and Brad McNeal of Carrollton; two daughters in-law, Pam McNeal of Carrollton and Cathy McNeal of Corunna; a son in-law, Jim Elam of Georgetown; a sister, Katherine Thompson of Wheatley; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the First Baptist Church in care of the funeral home
