Juanita Ann Olkusz, 83, of Fords, NJ took in a deep breath of Heaven's pure air, regained her eyesight and saw Jesus, her Savior, at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2014. She was born in Perth Amboy, raised in Woodbridge, before moving to Fords in 1958. She was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School's class of 1948. She was employed as a bank teller with the Perth Amboy National Bank in Perth Amboy prior to being married.
She was a member of the Hopelawn VFW, Ladies Auxiliary and the Market Square Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling throughout the USA and loved to crochet, winning many awards for her needle work.
Juanita also enjoyed playing cards with the family, and was known for making "the world's best rice pudding and pound cakes" . She had a special love for all animals, especially horses and dogs.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Olkusz, Sr. who died in June of 1980 and her dear brother in law, Steve Klc who died last month. She leaves behind her three beloved sons, Joseph A. Olkusz, Jr. and his wife Diane, of Fanwood, Richard A. Olkusz and his wife, Susan M., of Wanaque, NJ, and Robert G. Olkusz and his wife, Sue of Bernville, PA, her 6 grandchildren, Richard Olkusz, Jessica Asaad, Joseph L. Olkusz, Christine De Marco, Christina Rathburn and Karen Davis, her eleven great grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, Samuel, Anna, and Ruth Rathburn, Charlotte and Marley Davis, and Daniel, Lydia, Noah and Amelia Asaad, and her dear sister, Jean Klc of Avenel, her nephew, Steven Klc and nieces, Nancie Bullen, Barbara Klc. and cousin Donald Lassen.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Flynn and son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, NJ 08863, Interment will follow in Alpine Cemetery Perth Amboy. Visitation will be on Friday, April 4, 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to either the American Breast Cancer Foundation, 1220 B East Joppa Rd Suite 332 Towson, MD 21286 or the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O.
