Edwina M. Lach
AGE: 87 • Freehold
Edwina M. Lach, 87, passed away on February 24, 2014 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold. Born in Sayreville, she resided in Monmouth Beach before moving to Freehold in 1985.
Edwina was a flight attendant with TWA and retired as a Business Education Teacher from South River High School. She graduated with a degree in Education from Rider College in Trenton in 1961 and was a member of both the Monmouth County and New Jersey Education Associations. She was a Communicant of St. Mary's RC Church, South River, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Witkowski; her parents, Alexander and Nellie Lach; siblings, Joseph, Alexander, Dolores (Wackowitz) and Angela. Surviving are her sister, Alfreda (Jim) Monahan of Plymouth, MN; sister-in-law, Roberta Lach of West Windsor; her special friend and devoted companion, David Christie of Freehold, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3-5 PM at The BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL HOME, 454 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, where a blessing will take place at 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions to St. Mary's Catholic Church, 30 Jackson Street, South River, NJ 08882.

Ms. Lach, you were my role model in high school. Always the perfect lady, always dressed and polished, always a smile. I was just looking at a photo from NJ Girls State...you were my sponsor in 1964...it meant so much to me. My sincere condolences to family and friends of this wonderful lady.
