William P. Hatton

William P. Hatton, 74, died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Somerset Medical Center, Somerville. He was born June 23, 1938 in Orange to William R. and Jeanette Stevenson Hatton. He was raised in Orange and had resided in Irvington before moving to Dunellen in 1972. Bill was the owner and sales executive with Hatton Air Compressor, LLC in Dunellen, a business he started in 1981 and continued to the present. He was a parishioner of St. John's R.C. Church, Dunellen. Bill was a member of the Dunellen Green Brook Rotary Club since 1984 and had served as president. He was also a long time member of Unforgettable Autos of Mid Jersey and an active member of the Antique Automobile Club of America. Bill had served as a president of the Vailsburg Rescue Squad in Newark and had served as chairman of the Dunellen Planning Board.
Bill was the bother of the late Walter and George Hatton and Dolores Stanislawczyk. His family includes his wife Eleanor Wilsey Hatton, a daughter Kathleen Shepherd of Middlesex, a son William P. Hatton Dunellen, 3 grandchildren, Corey, Ryan and Sean Shepherd and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John's R.C. Church, Dunellen on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 9:00am. Interment will be at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. Friends may visit the family at The Mundy Funeral Home, 142 Dunellen Avenue, Dunellen on Wednesday from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm.

They don't make them like Mr. Hatton anymore. He was a wonderful man and I am better for having known him. His jokes and playful demeanor always made him seem much younger than he was. My condolences to Bill and the rest of the family. May you find peace, and one day be able to just see the joy that he brought everyone.
