Emmanuel Antonakakis
AGE: 88 • Edison
Mr. Emmanuel Antonakakis passed away Tuesday, May 14th, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 88 years old. Born to John and Vassiliki Antonakakis in Hania, on the Greek Isle of Crete, Emmanuel came to the United States in 1955. He lived in New Brunswick and Highland Park before settling in Edison 35 years ago. He had a long career as a leather cutter, retiring 23 years ago. Mr. Antonakakis was a devoutly religious man, and an active member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway, where he served as the Cantor for over 50 years, on the Parish Council and as the Sexton. He was devoted to his family, and cherished time spent with them. He was an avid reader who loved to garden and play the Greek laouto.
Mr. Antonakakis was predeceased by his brothers, Stavros and Rev. Joseph Antonakakis. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Irene Antonakakis; by their children, John Anton and his wife Glenda, Vicky Gerometta and her husband John, Constantinos Antonakakis, Joseph Antonakakis and his wife Linda, and Eleni Apostolakis and her husband Constantine; grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael, Christine and Diane, Joseph, Christina, and Kathleen, and Demetri, Yianni, Andreas, and Katerina; great-grandchildren, Marcella, Luca, and Veronica; and by his brother, Kostas Antonakakis.
Visitation will be held between 9 and 10 am Monday, May 20th at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854 with the funeral service to follow.  Patrick Arcaro Sr. AGE: 75 • South River Patrick Arcaro Sr., 75, of South River, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with his loving family at his side. Born in Indiprete, Italy, he moved to the United States in 1955. Patrick was an outstanding mason working with the Bricklayers Union Local 5, as well as owning and operating Arcaro Masonry for many years. Surviving are his beloved wife of 55 years, whom he had known since the age of 13, Josephine Giancola Arcaro; his children, Salvatore and his wife Diane of Monroe Twp., Judy Maria and her husband Frank Certo of North Brunswick, and Patrick Jr. of Monroe Twp.; his grandchildren, Salvatore Arcaro, Anthony Arcaro, Alexandra Talharim Schnoes and her husband Jordan, Anthony Talharim, and Gianna Arcaro; his sister-in-law, Carmela Arcaro, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday 10:30am from the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave., South River, with an 11am mass to follow at Corpus Christi RC Church in South River. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in South Brunswick.Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2pm to 6pm only. Patricia Betzler
AGE: 67 • Forked River
Patricia Betzler (nee Diamond), 67 of Forked River, passed away on May 15th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, she played the cello and was a dancer and dance instructor for many years. Her love of dance led to appearances on a USO Tour and even American Bandstand. After relocating to Ocean County, Pat worked as a Paraoptometric for 37 years. Pat's love and dedication to her family were the guiding forces of her life. She cared for many family members and friends in need no matter the personal sacrifice. Pat also enjoyed many adventures with her family through travels around the world.
Pat will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Amy and Kimberly; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Dawn; and grandsons, Tyler and Ryan. She was pre-deceased by her husband Bill.
Visitation will be Sunday 1-4 pm at Layton's Home For Funerals, Forked River. A funeral service will be held 330 Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.

 Saverio "Bill" Boffoli AGE: 82 • Jackson Saverio "Bill" Boffoli, 82, of Jackson, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Kimball Medical Center, Lakewood. Born in New York City on Dec. 29, 1930, Bill was an Army Tech Sergeant during the Korean War when he earned the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Korean Service Medal. In addition, Bill was an extremely successful business man. He was a communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson. Bill loved his family and spent his life providing and taking care of all his family, immediate and extended. His great love for his wife, Loretta, shone through every day of their 61 years together. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Maria and Vito Boffoli; his brothers, Nicholas and Michael; his sisters, Mary Greene and Grace McGuinness. Surviving to cherish his memory always are his beloved spouse, Loretta; his children: daughter, Patrice and Ed Howe, sons, William and Donna Boffoli, and Stephen Boffoli; his 9 grandchildren, Edward and Jenny Howe, Allison and Scott DiGrezia, Stephanie Howe, William, Jamie and Daniel Boffoli, Alexander, Nico and Christopher Boffoli; his 3 great-grandchildren, Dominic DiGrezia, and Sophia and Amelia Howe; his many cherished nieces and nephews; and our closest family friend, Richard Shiffner.  Paula Kenah Brienza Wall Paula Kenah Brienza, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Wexford Assisted Living in Wall. Born in Montclair, Paula grew up in East Orange. She moved to Wall in 1982. Ms. Brienza attended Mount St. Dominic Academy and Caldwell College and took post graduate courses in chemistry at Seton Hall University. After graduation, Paula went to work for Engelhard Industries as a catalytic chemist. She spent her entire career at Engelhard, retiring as manager of quality control and quality assurance. A patentee in auto exhaust catalyst preparation and metal catalyst preparation, Paula was listed in the 1980 edition of Who's Who of American Women. Ms. Brienza was an active member of St. Catharine-St. Margaret Parish in Spring Lake where she served as a Eucharist Minister and was a member of the original RCIA team for more than 15 years. She was a longtime member of the Spring Lake Garden Club and active member of the Board of Directors of the Weybridge Condominium Association, serving first as secretary, then vice president. Paula was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Joseph Kenah; her brothers, Al and Bert Kenah; and two nephews, John and Gregory Kenah. Surviving are three nieces, Margaret Kenah, Patricia Kenah, and Ellen Kenah Slanovits; eight nephews, Richard, Lawrence, Peter, Thomas, Andrew, James, Paul, and Patrick Kenah; 24 grandnieces and nephews, 18 great-grandnieces and nephews, and 9 first cousins. Angelica Ceppaluni AGE: 79 • Freehold Angelica Ceppaluni, 79, of Freehold Township, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at home with her loving family. Born in Guayama, Puerto Rico, she has resided in Freehold for the past seven years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Englishtown. Angelica worked at Great Adventure for 13 years before retiring. She loved singing, playing golf and gardening. She was predeceased by her husband, Valerio, in 2000. Anna T. Ciampa
Somerset
Ann "Hannah" Ciampa, departed this life on Tuesday afternoon at her home in Somerset at the age of 86. Mrs. Ciampa was born in the Bronx and had lived in the Franklin Township area since 1942. She was a homemaker providing a comfortable home for her husband, son and any friends and family who would visit. A New Years Baby herself, born January 1, 1927, she became the family party planner as well as a compassionate caregiver. She also worked previously for Johnson and Johnson in the cafeteria bookkeeping department. More recently, she enjoyed spending her summers helping her son at his antique shop in Gettysburg, PA.
Mrs. Ciampa was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, William A. Ciampa in March of this year. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Alex, Stanley, Nick and John Chernick; and her sisters, Stella Ruckman, Olga Badessa, Sophie Buklad and Mary Spano. She is survived by her son, William Ciampa of Gettysburg, Pa.; and a sister, Helen Gangintano. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Visitation will be on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM and from 10-11 AM on Tuesday at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St., Somerset. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick.

AGE: 97 • Lacey Township
Alice L. Clark, 97, of Lacey Township, died Thursday, May 16, 2013. She was born in Union Hill, NJ and lived in New Milford, NJ before moving to the Forked River section of Lacey Twp. in 1971. Her late husband, Stanley J. Clark, died in 1986.
She had been employed by the Teaneck Board of Education as a Secretary and more recently was employed by Glen Cove Realty in Bayville as a real estate agent.
Surviving are a cousin, Frieda Pool of Pico Rivera, Calif.; her late cousin's widow, Erna Berwer of Teaneck, NJ, and her late cousin's widow, Anna Liese Koch of Rowland Heights, Calif.
She was a member of the Woman's Club of Lacey, the Lacey Garden Club, and the American Assoc. of Retired Persons, and she was a past president of the New Milford Woman's Club of New Milford, NJ.
Visitation will be Sunday 1-4pm at the Layton's Home For Funerals, Forked River, NJ. Cremation will be private.

John Clarkson, 56, of Beachwood, formerly of Neptune, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. John was a self-employed roofer. He was predeceased by his parents, Willard and Virginia Clarkson. Maryann Conover, 75, passed on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born on March 25, 1939 and raised in New Brunswick, she resided in Monroe for the past 5 years with her daughter.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Conover; her son, Robert Conover; her four grandchildren, Justin, Amanda, Emily and Hailey; and her sister, Kathy Stern. She will be deeply missed and always be in our hearts.
