Mary Virginia Van Der Veer Scotch Plains Mary Virginia Van Der Veer transitioned this life May 18, 2016 at home in Scotch Plains. Born in Suffolk, Va., she has been a resident of Scotch Plains for many yrs. She was employed at Revlon and United Stationers. Mrs. Van Der Veer was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Roselle. Surviving are her husband of 56 yrs. Irving Van Der Veer Jr., children Robin, Irving III & Demetri Van Der Veer, 12 grandchildren 18 gr. grandchildren, 1 gr. gr. grandchild, siblings Bettye Powell, Juanita Wiggins, James & Barry Warren, Sandra Bryant, Cheryl Thompson, Francine Benton and a host of loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11Am at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 1002 Rivington St., Roselle. Vinchur, Dolores - 92, Manville, Nj  
Dolores Vinchur AGE: 92 • Manville, NJ Manville, NJ - Dolores (Bush) Vinchur, 92, entered into eternal life on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at home. Born in Mahanoy City, PA, daughter of the late John and Anna (Chonko) Bush, she resided in Bound Brook, NJ before settling in Manville fifty-nine years ago. Dolores retired in 1985 from Ortho Pharmaceutical in Raritan, NJ. She was a devout parishioner and member of the Altar Rosary Society of Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville. Dolores was active with the V.F.W. Post #2290 Ladies Auxiliary in Manville and participated with the Manville Senior Citizens Club. She loved reading and word puzzles and was a New York Mets fan, but her greatest joy was spending time with family. Besides her parents, Dolores was predeceased by her beloved husband of forty-seven years, Andrew R. Vinchur on December 6, 1999; and by dear siblings, Rita Rachuck, Mary Helsel, John Bush, and Theresa Parlier. Dolores is survived by her loving and devoted children, Andrew J. Vinchur and his wife Bianca Falbo of Easton, PA, John Vinchur and his wife Carol of Manville, Mark Vinchur with whom she lived, Joseph Vinchur and Nancy of Lopatcong Township, NJ, and Ann Straszewski and her husband Gary of Manville; and dear brother, Stephen Bush of Bangor, PA. She will be deeply missed by her adored grandchildren, Adam Straszewski, Kristin Straszewski, Angela and her husband Tom Matus, and Alexis Martin-Vinchur; dear step-grandchildren, Sean Gutsick and Jessica, Patrick Gutsick and Beth; cherished great grandson, Thomas Jacob Straszewski and step-great grandchildren, Sophie Gutsick, Natalie Gutsick, Grace Gutsick, and Everett Gutsick. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing at Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, Manville, NJ 08835 on Wednesday, May 25 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, May 26 from 8-8:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 26 beginning 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 9:00 a.m. funeral liturgy at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church) in Manville. Dolores will be laid to rest beside her husband at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough. Memorial contributions may be made in Dolores' name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 a cause close to her heart. Varga, Emil J. - 78, Ansonia, Ct  
Emil J. Varga AGE: 78 • Ansonia, CT Mr. Emil J. Varga, 78, of Ansonia, CT, formerly of Iselin, NJ passed away peacefully on May 18, 2016. Born in New York City on August 12, 1937, he was the beloved son of the late Michael and Frances (Sedlik) Varga. Emil graduated from Cardinal Hayes Catholic High School in NYC and earned a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from Rutgers University in NJ. He taught grammar school and high school Math in Edison Township District and retired after teaching for over 30 years. He loved to volunteer at St. Cecelia Food Pantry and St. Cecelia Social Concerns, as well as volunteering in several nursing homes in Iselin. His kind and generous spirit will be remembered by all who knew him. He was a spiritual man with a beautiful soul. Emil was a communicant of St. Cecelia's Church in Iselin until his move to CT where he attended Mass at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Even though his stay in CT was short-lived, he made a lasting impression on everyone he met. His doctors and caregivers and church friends all commented on wonderful person Emil was. Emil is survived by his first cousins, Cecelia Dulla of Ansonia, CT and Mary Michrina of Shelton, CT and several cousins in Pennsylvania and Slovakia. Second cousins, who were like his children, Martha Andrade and her husband Carl, Joseph Dulla and his wife Robyn and daughter Tabitha, Anthony Dulla and Maryann Dulla, all of Ansonia, CT. He was especially thankful to his second cousin, Martha (Dulla) Andrade, for all her care and compassion over the last several years and to the staff of Apple Rehab at Shelton lakes for their care over the last few months. Friends may call on Saturday, May 21, 2016 from 9:30am until10:30am at the Costello Brennan Funeral Home, 1225 Green St., Iselin. Following calling hours a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Cecelia Church, Iselin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Cecelia Social Concerns, 45 Wilas Way, Iselin, NJ 08830.
