Wallis Jr., George E. - 84, Forked River  
George E. Wallis, Jr. AGE: 84 • Forked River George E. Wallis, Jr., age 84 of Forked River, passed away on Saturday May 23, 2015, at his home. George was born in Leonardo and had lived in Laurelton, before moving to Forked River in 1969. Mr. Wallis was an operating engineer working for Local 825, Springfield, for 44 years before his retirement in 1991. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the US Navy. George was a Boy Scout Leader in Laurelton, exempt member of the Laurelton Volunteer Fire Company and had served in many offices including Chief. He was a charter member of the Lacey Elks BPOE #2518, was an active golfer, he belonged to the Father's Club at St. Mary's Academy, Lakewood, and was a communicant of St. Pius X RC Church Forked River. George was predeceased by his brother John Wallis. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Florence (nee Estelle) Wallis; his two sons George E. III, and his wife Jodi, of Forked River, Mark and his wife Joan, of New Gretna; two daughters, Laura Duzendorf and her husband Russell, of Lanoka Harbor, and Brenda Schoeneberg and her husband Brian of Warren Grove. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Rentchler, of Brick; 11 grandchildren Sarah, Ian, Evan, Megan, Mark, Jr., Lindsey, Kristin, Chelsea, Emily, Malcolm and Darren; and his great-grandson Chase. A viewing will be held on Wednesday May 27, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and Thursday May 28, from 10:30 until the time of service at 11:00 am at the Riggs Funeral Home, 130 Rt. 9 North (aka Main Street), Forked River, NJ 08731. Interment will follow at the Good Luck Cemetery, Lanoka Harbor. Weber, Terrance L. - 87, Cream Ridge  
Terrance L. Weber AGE: 87 • Cream Ridge Terrance L. Weber, 87, passed away at his residence on May 21, 2015. He is formerly of Freehold Township before moving to Silverton and then settling in Cream Ridge. Terrance is survived by his wife Doris Weber, ten children, twenty five grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. Until his retirement in 2014, he was a printer and owner of Weber & Sons, Inc. in Freehold Township. Terrance was a member of the First Baptist church of Freehold and the Gateway Community Church. He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. A memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced. Phyllis M. Weiss AGE: 80 • Tinton Falls Phyllis M. Weiss, age 80, of Tinton Falls, died May 20, 2015 at home. Weller, Gail June - 73, Formerly Of Warren  
Gail June Weller AGE: 73 • Formerly of Warren Gail June Weller (Whittaker), 73, of Vero Beach and formerly of Warren, NJ, died on May 17, 2015, at the VNA Hospice House. Gail is survived by her husband of 52 years, Guido Weller of Vero Beach; by her son Ronald Weller and his wife Giovanna of Meriden, CT; by her daughter Robin Albers and her husband Christopher of Hampton, NJ; and by her beloved and cherished granddaughter Elizabeth Weller. She is also survived by her nieces Naomi Hubler of Midlothian, TX; Leslie DiGiovanni of Sebastian, FL; and by her nephew Scott Thomas of Barefoot Bay, FL. Born in Union, NJ in 1942, Gail was a remarkable woman. After graduating from Union High School, she was admitted to UCLA on a scholarship but was unable to attend. Despite this setback, Gail was a pioneer in the construction industry, becoming a General Partner in a New Jersey commercial construction firm. Gail was a tireless volunteer for the American Cancer Society and the Salvation Army. She was a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board in Plainfield, NJ. Walton, Roy F. - 83, Lanoka Harbor  
Roy F Walton AGE: 83 • Lanoka Harbor Roy F. Walton, 83, beloved husband and father passed peacefully on May 18, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Roy was born in Newark, NJ and graduated from high school in Newark. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1951 and served as a radio specialist until being honorably discharged in 1955. He was happily married to his wife Fareeda for 62 years, and together raised 7 children, residing first in Howell, NJ and then Jackson, NJ from 1963 until Roy's retirement from Bell Atlantic in 1989. Roy and Fareeda then spent 12 years in Myrtle Beach, SC enjoying life on the beach and the golf course prior to resettling in Smithville, NJ. Roy spent the last year of his life with Fareeda at his daughter and son-in-law's house in Lanoka Harbor. Roy was active in Church as a Eucharistic Minister and in the Knights of Columbus. He loved to fish and bird watch and was an avid reader of science fiction. Roy is survived by his beloved wife Fareeda, his sons Mark, Thomas and Roy, and daughters Mary, Charlotte and Susan, and was predeceased by his oldest son Stephen. He also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Layton's Home For Funerals, 250 Lacey Rd. Forked River. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday 10 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 591 New Jersey Ave., Absecon, NJ. Cremation will be private. Washawanny, William - 93, Manahawkin  
William Washawanny AGE: 93 • Manahawkin William Washawanny, 93, of Manahawkin, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015. He was born in Bayonne, and spent three years as a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII serving as a radioman on the USS Texas BB35 in the Atlantic, Africa, Normandy, and the Pacific, and was awarded several medals. He was a graduate of Seton Hall University, and employed for over 45 years at the Jersey Printing Company. After more than 35 years living in Cranford, he retired to Manahawkin and resided there for 27 years. He was a member of the Barnegat VFW. He spent the last two years living with his daughter and her husband in Hahira, Georgia. Predeceased by his beloved of 60 years, Helen (Wilks), he is survived by three loving children, Mary Jane Criscuola and husband Robert, William J. Washawanny and wife Nina, and Thomas M. Washawanny. Viewing from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 21 at Barnegat Funeral Home, 841 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat. Mass offered 10 a.m. Friday, May 22 at St. Mary's Church, Barnegat. Washburne, Edward S. - 93, Shrewsbury  
Edward S. Washburne AGE: 93 • Shrewsbury Edward S. Washburne, 93, of Shrewsbury, passed away on May 16, 2015. Edward graduated from Manasquan High School and served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Edward attended Pratt Institute, was a member of the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, and worked all over the world in his profession as a shipbuilder. Edward was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Beatrice, in 2008. Frederick W. Wetzel AGE: 81 • Cliffwood Beach Frederick W. Wetzel, 81, of Cliffwood Beach, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at home. Born in Union, he was raised there until moving to Cliffwood Beach over 50 years ago. He owned Carvel on Rt. 35, Cliffwood, from 1958 to 1966. He worked as a foreman with American Cyanamid of Linden for 30 years before retiring. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW of Freehold. Frederick was predeceased by his parents, William and Elsie (Woodruff) Wetzel; and eight brothers and sisters. He is survived by his beloved wife, Norma (Bauer) Wetzel; four loving daughters, Dawn Lombard of Manchester, Darlene Gallucci and husband Joseph of Sayreville, Debra Schwenk and husband Michael of Manalapan, and Dorothy Martin and husband James of Cape Coral, FL; a dear sister, Dolores Visco of Edison; cherished grandchildren, Paul Lombard Jr., Cori Ruiz and her husband Nelson, Dana Lombard and Amie Lombard, Joseph Gallucci III, Devan Gallucci and Jade Gallucci, Nicole Birckbichler and her husband Michael, Tiffany Schwenk, Michael Schwenk, Hallie Slutter and Stone Martin; and two adored great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Aiden. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends, whom all held a special place in his heart. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Marjorie Whitaker AGE: 68 • Sayreville Marjorie Whitaker, 68, of Sayreville died May 13 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Born and raised in South Amboy, Marjorie lived in Sayreville. She graduated from H.G. Hoffman High School. Prior to her retirement, she was a school crossing guard in South Amboy. In earlier years she was a communicant at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, and more recently St. Stan's R.C. Church. Marjorie enjoyed cooking and baking. Above all, she was loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Predeceased by her parents, Walter Sr. and Margaret Kozak, brothers, John, Joseph, and Mark Kozak, she is survived by her husband Douglas, daughter, Ann Marie Whitaker, brother, Walter Kozak, sister, Christine Cwiklik, grandchildren, Angela, Jeannie, and Tara and her great grandson Leon. In keeping with Marjorie's wishes, visitation was private. A funeral mass was held yesterday at Sacred Heart R.C. Church, South Amboy followed by interment in the church cemetery.
