Carl H. Zerr, Jr. AGE: 83 • Whiting Carl H. Zerr, Jr., 83, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Crestwood Manor. Carl was a very proud 20 year Veteran of the U.S. Navy as well as a lifelong volunteer fireman, achieving Exempt Status for his many years of service. He spent a career in the banking industry before retiring with PNC Bank. He was very active in the Episcopal Church, both in NJ and in Maine. Two of his greatest fulfillments in life were spending time with his family in Maine and helping those in need as a fireman. Born in Germantown, PA., he resided in Moorestown, Mt. Holly, Mt. Laurel and Maine before moving to Whiting 11 years ago. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Joan (nee Stockwell) Zerr of 58 years earlier this year. He is survived by his 3 children, Linda Powell (Arthur), Margaret F. Brennan (Robert), Carl H. Zerr III (Lisandra), as well as 7 grandchildren, Alexander, Rhee, Chippie, Katie, Rosie, Nathan and Leilani. Friends and family will be gathering on Saturday, August 1, from 10-11am with Services beginning at 11am at the Holy Apostles' Episcopal Church (formerly St. James), 1040 Yardville-Allentown Rd. Yardville, NJ. Committal will be private and under the direction of the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Rd. Whiting. Frank L. Zitani AGE: 71 • Forked River Frank L. Zitani, 71, of Forked River, Lacey Township, formerly of Hoboken, passed away on Monday July 27, 2015. Frank is predeceased by his wife Sondra who passed in 2013. Surviving are his children, Rosemarie D'Alto and her husband Joseph, Richard Zitani and his wife Dawn, Tara Zitani and her husband Stew Finley and John Zitani; his sisters Helen Kronack, Patricia Lara, Denise Zitani and his brother Richard Zitani. Also survived by his grandchildren Stephanie, Chelsea, Michael, Cassondra, Cody, JJ and Brianna; great-grandchild Kaiden. Visitation will be Friday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Layton's Home For Funerals, Forked River. Relatives and friends may arrive Saturday 8:30 am at the funeral home. Zangara, Audrey - Toms River  
Audrey Zangara AGE: 81 • Toms River Zangara, Audrey, age 81, of Toms River, died on Friday, July 24th, 2015. Audrey was born in Newark, NJ, and lived in Bound Brook for 19 years before moving to Midland Park 40 years ago. She also had a beach house in Toms River. Audrey was a homemaker, dedicating her life to her husband and children. She was the Past President of the St. Joseph's Rosary Altar Society in Bound Brook, NJ, a member of the Watchung Fire Co. #3 Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the Midland Park High School Booster Club. Audrey was also a supporter and friend of the Toms River Police Department and enjoyed exploring the Barnegat Bay on her boat "Liberty". Audrey is survived by her four sons - Joseph, Frank and his wife, Karen, Thomas and his wife, Joan, and John and his wife, Lori, and six grandchildren - Nicole, Kyle, Scott, Michael, Connie and Kevin. Also surviving are her brothers, Frank Stefanelli and Joseph (Ronald) Stefanelli, her sister, Maryann Morrell, sister-in-law Camille Ross, brother-in-law Donald Zangara and his wife, Joanne, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Audrey was predeceased by her husband, Joseph P., in 2009. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 29th from 4-8pm at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com , 257 Godwin Ave. Wyckoff, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 30th at 10am at Church of the Nativity, 315 Prospect St., Midland Park, NJ 07432. Zakanycz, Margaret Choplinsky - 90, Middletown  
Margaret Choplinsky Zakanycz AGE: 90 • Middletown Margaret Choplinsky Zakanycz, 90, of Middletown passed away at Riverview Medical Center on Thursday, July 23, 2015. She was born to the late Vladack and Mary Harmyk Choplinsky, at home in Middletown where she lived her whole life. Margaret graduated from Leonardo High School in the class of l942. She was employed at the Camp Coles Division of Fort Monmouth in the Mechanical Drawing Department and also at Wilbur's Jewelers, Red Bank before becoming a full time homemaker. In 1952, she married Peter Zakanycz. Together they built their dream home and traveled throughout the United States. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Vladeck and Mary Choplinsky, stepfather Joseph Bekalski, her husband Peter Zakanycz, brothers Stanley and Joseph Choplinsky along with sisters Annie Melnik and Minnie Jones. She is survived by her son, Peter John Zakanycz and wife Cindy, her daughter Dr. Margaret Zakanycz and husband George Putykewycz and her grandson George Stephan Putykewycz along with two brother-in-laws, George Jones and Stephen Zakanycz with his wife Barbara, many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Margaret had a positive sweet spirit. She was an incredible mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend whose love and devotion were unending. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2015 from 3 to 7 pm, at the John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral Monday July 27, at 9:15am at the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be offered at 11am at the Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the BVM, Perth Amboy. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown, NJ.
