Zieman Jr., William H. - 72, Ocean Township
William H. Zieman, Jr. AGE: 72 • Ocean Township William H. Zieman, Jr., 72, years old of Ocean Township, passed away on June 25, 2015 at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune. Bill was born and lived in Newark, attending St. John's Grammar School and St. Benedict's Prep until his family moved to Fair Haven, New Jersey. Some of Bill's fondest memories were during his years growing up on River Road, whether fishing or crabbing on the Navesink, caddying at the local country club, cruising in his car, or just hanging out with friends in Sea Bright; he loved living at the shore. Bill was a 1961 graduate of Rumson Fair Haven High School and attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa, and Rutgers University, New Brunswick Campus, obtaining certification to become a Professional Land Surveyor and Professional Planner in 1972. Bill worked in the Land Surveying Business for over 50 years, initially acquiring the business of H. A. Martin and Associates in Red Bank (the first company he worked for), forming Phillips and Zieman on Broad Street in Red Bank. Eventually, Bill branched out on his own under William H. Zieman, Jr. PLS, and PP, and for the past 30 years operating as Azimuth Land Surveying Company Inc. in Oakhurst, NJ. Bill was a member of the Garden State Land Surveyors Alliance, and The American Congress of Surveyors and Planners. Bill's hobbies included work, work, and work. He will forever be remembered by his loving family as a truly "hard working man" who always provided for us and gave us the best, and would accept from us nothing less. Anyone who knew Bill knew he was a 'good guy' with a sharp wit, and a wicked sense of humor. Rest in Peace Bill, Dad and Grandpa. We love you. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed ocean fishing, spending time with his family, enjoying good meals, and any opportunity to travel. Bill is predeceased by his mother Aleta Zieman (Smith) and his father William H. Zieman, Sr. He is survived by his companion and working partner of 33 years Debbie Wirth, Ocean Township; his daughter, Amy Zieman, Ocean Township and her children, William Swart and Ava Swart; his daughter, Jennifer Raad, West Linn, Oregon, her husband Bernard, and their children, Amar Raad and Isabella Raad; and his daughter Laurie Zieman, Ocean Township; and his former wife, Edith Carnes, Manchester. He also leaves behind his dog, his buddy "Merv." Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30 from 5-8 pm at the Damiano Funeral Home, 191 Franklin Ave., (corner of Third Ave.) in Long Branch. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Wednesday at St. Michael's Church, 800 Ocean Ave., West End, Long Branch. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery, Oceanport. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations can be made to New Jersey Tree Foundation, 576 Leesville Road, Jackson, NJ 08527. Letters of condolence may be sent through the web at .
