Lamoreaux, Randi - 89, Toms River
Randi Lamoreaux AGE: 89 • Toms River Randi Lamoreaux, 89, of Toms River, passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Her final days were spent at home surrounded by friends and family. Randi was born in Oslo, Norway on August 26, 1926. She came to America after WWII where she met the love of her life, Paul Lamoreaux. They married and moved to Little Falls, NJ to start a family. Their marriage was otherworldly. They had the kind of relationship most people only dream about. Together, they raised three girls. Always active, Randi volunteered at a home for children with disabilities and she was so wonderful at this work, that the home gave her a job. She was also very involved in her church; and she loved being a Girl Scout leader for her daughter's troop. She retired with Paul to Toms River in 1982 so they could be closer to their grandchildren. Randi was predeceased by Paul on September 9, 2010. Randi had a way of making you feel loved that is truly beyond words. Her presence made everyone feel better. She usually managed to be in the center of everything which is exactly how she preferred it. She lived to be around her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Kids lit up her world. She always looked happiest with a baby in her arms. She was early to every recital, game, and graduation. She was generous, giving, and always put others first. Her life taught others what family really meant. Everything Randi did seemed effortless and magical to those around her. She taught her family the power of putting love and care into fixing someone coffee or ironing a shirt. Her Christmas cookies are legendary; and she was truly joyful when giving and caring for those around her. She was hard-working and brilliant but too humble to ever admit it. She was fiercely loyal and incredibly perceptive. There was no hiding anything from her. She was a great listener and a natural problem solver. Randi understood people instinctively and made everyone feel at ease. She always knew just what to say to get you to talk. She was incredibly funny, appreciated the little things, and truly loved life. Her mischievous smile always gave her away when she was playfully teasing. There was no one like her. Her love extended beyond blood. She was always there for children who needed her. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and nana. She was the best friend anyone could ever ask for. Although the countless people she's touched will miss her, she will always be remembered. She loved unconditionally and was beloved by all who were lucky enough to know her. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. A prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
