Waugh, Charles "Charlie" - 73, Hazlet  
Charles "Charlie" Waugh AGE: 73 • Hazlet Charles "Charlie" Waugh, 73, of Hazlet, passed away Saturday August 20, 2016 at home. He was born in Jersey City and would relocate to Hazlet where he has lived for several years. Charles served his country in the Army National Guard during peacetime. "Charlie", as he was affectionately known was a Giants fan, loved fishing, solving crossword puzzles and following his grandsons in football and jiu-jitsu. Charles was a long-time employee as a telecommunications technician for AT & T of Newark, before retiring in 1999. After he retired, Charles worked for Stop and Shop of Hazlet for many years. He was predeceased by his parents Raymond Waugh and Marie (McCabe) Waugh. Charles was survived by his loving wife Lucille (Pitaresi) Waugh; two sons Charles Jr. of Georgia and Steven and his wife Kellie also of Georgia; and a daughter Jennifer Aleo of Hazlet. He is also survived by three loving siblings John "Jack" Waugh and his wife Roberta of Hazlet; Raymond Waugh and his wife Cathy of Long Valley; and Mary Boyle and her husband Richard of Belmar. Charles also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren Nicholas Waugh and Alycia and Vito Aleo. A visitation will be held for Charles on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735, from 2-4PM and 7-9PM, and on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at a time to be announced at the funeral home with a time to be announced mass at St Joseph's Church of Keyport. Eleanor (nee Kilby) Whitehead formerly of Toms River Whitehead, Eleanor (nee Kilby) formerly of Toms River, N.J. on Aug. 19, 2016. Graduate of Thomas Jefferson University. Registered nurse Point Pleasant Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Ezra. Devoted mother of Margaret (Jim) Amberg, William (Lynnann) and Robert (Helen). Wagner, Mary Louise - 82, Wall Township  
Mary Louise Wagner AGE: 82 • Wall Township Mary Louise Wagner, 82 of Wall Township passed away on Friday August 19. Mary Lou was born in Middletown, Maryland. She graduated from Middletown High School; she received her undergraduate degree from Lebanon Valley College, Pennsylvania; her Master's Degree in College Administration from Syracuse University, New York; and her Doctorate of Education from Rutgers University, New Jersey. She began her career as College Administrator to establish the new Essex Community College in Baltimore, Maryland. After moving to New Jersey she took a position as a Guidance Counselor a Middletown High School. She taught Sociology for 22 years at Brookdale Community College, completing her tenure as a full professor and President of the Faculty Senate. Mary Lou was active with the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and served as President of the Northern Monmouth Chapter. She formed a Girl Scout Troop and 4-H Chapter in Oceanport. Mary Lou was active in the 4 Seasons at Wall Women's Club, where she served as President. She and her husband were volunteer teachers in China where they formed lasting friendships. Mary Lou is the daughter of the former David H. Young and Louise Catherine Lamar, who was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Mary Lou has been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Red Bank. Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 58 years Leo H Wagner of Wall; her daughter Jana Reinhart and husband William; her son Eric Wagner and his wife Linda; four beloved grandchildren Wesley, David, Carolyn and Evan. Mary Lou is also survived by a sister Barbara and her husband James. She is predeceased by her parents and two sisters Alice Virginia and Jane. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Thursday August 25 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan. A funeral service will be held 11 am on Friday August 26 at First Presbyterian Church in Red Bank 255 Harding Road Red Bank, NJ 07701. Evelyn Weiss AGE: 84 • Toms River Evelyn Weiss, 84, of Toms River died Friday August 19, 2016. Evelyn was a self-employed Pension Plan Administrator before retiring. Born in Virginia, she resided in West Orange, Old Bridge, Point Pleasant and Cream Ridge before moving to Toms River in 2012. Evelyn was past President and very active with Deborah Heart & Lung fundraising. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Ralph in 1998. She is survived by 2 sons, Corey Weiss of Manasquan, Scott Weiss and his wife, Melissa of Cumming, GA., her daughter, Jayne Hirsch of Cream Ridge, and 8 grandchildren. Services are private. Born in Buffalo, NY, Carolyn lived in Kansas before moving to Martinsville 19 years ago. Carolyn was a graduate of Purdue University and Whittenburg University attaining her PhD and working as clinical Pharmacist. She is predeceased by her son, Steven McLaine Wilkinson; father, Earl Middendorf; and brother, Wayne Middendorf. Carolyn is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Randy E. Wilkinson; children, Andrew R. Wilkinson, Austin E. Wilkinson, Geoffrey Woodward and wife, Mandy, and Tara Mussari and husband, Jessie; brother, Bruce Middendorf and wife, Mimi; sister-in-law, Karen Middendorf; and granddaughter, Olivia Grace Woodward. Woodruff, Lorraine N. - 91, Plainfield  
Lorraine N. Woodruff AGE: 91 • Plainfield Lorraine N. Woodruff, 91, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Lorraine N. Woodruff lived 91 years. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Thomas J. Nayder and Rose Cecelia Truhlar; graduated from Gage Park High School in Chicago in 1943; served as a Cadet Nurse during World War II, where she met her husband, Henry M. Woodruff. She graduated from Jackson Park Hospital Nursing School in October 1946. Lorraine lived in Plainfield for more than 50 years and spent a lot of time at the family's home in Gouldsboro, Maine. She was predeceased by her husband, Henry M Woodruff in 2001 and 6 siblings. Mrs. Woodruff is survived by her ten children: Henry M Jr. (Sue), Ellen Eltgroth (Stefan), Tom (Barbara), Jane Campbell (Keith), Janet Kolb (Barry), Robert (Eva Jane), Margaret Givens (Larry), Mary Hicks, Martha Rath (Robert), and Benjamin (Marie). She is survived by a brother, Ben Nayder. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at a memorial service on Thursday, September 1st at 5pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Dunellen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 218 Dunellen Ave, Dunellen NJ 08812 or the Parker Home, 501 Easton Ave, New Brunswick NJ 08901. Woolley, Robert D. - Hillsborough  
Robert D. Woolley Hillsborough Robert D. Woolley of Hillsborough, NJ passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City. Bob was born in Bethesda, MD in 1946 and had been a resident of Hillsborough Township for 38 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, as well as an accomplished engineer. Dr. Woolley received his BSEE degree from Lehigh University in 1968. Bob was a lifelong student who earned Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering from The George Washington University in 1973, in Applied Mathematics from Rutgers, The State University in 1997, and in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2013. In 2016, he earned a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In his early career he worked on control systems for military aircraft, communications satellites and nuclear power plants. In 1976, he joined the staff of the Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPL), a national lab run for the federal government by Princeton University. PPL's research mission is focused on plasma physics and fusion energy research. Bob's career there spanned nearly 40 years. In 1996, he was named a PPL Distinguished Engineering Fellow for work which allowed PPL's Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor magnets to operate safely beyond original design specifications, thus enabling the experiment to achieve its best recorded results. Bob is the author of numerous technical papers and holds three fusion-related US patents. In June 2016, he was awarded a fourth US patent for a Fission-Fusion Hybrid Molten Salt Reactor design. He was a member the American Nuclear Society, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Bob was keenly interested in technology and was a manned space exploration enthusiast. He enjoyed traveling, biking, hiking and camping. Bob treasured the time he spent with his children and grandchildren and looked forward to annual extended family visits to Ocean City, MD, and Disney World. Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years Kathryn, daughter Lisa Leuzzi and husband Marc of Bridgewater, NJ; daughter Eileen Tanalski, husband Eric and four grandchildren, Elliott, Kyra, Alannah and Kathleen, of Hillsborough, NJ, as well as siblings Evelyn McArthur of Falls Church, VA, John Woolley of Sterling, VA and Lois Woolley of Woodstock, NY, and 34 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Dr. Harold Woolley, mother Ruth (Mowry) Woolley, brother Donald Woolley and nephew John McGowan. Visiting hours will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, August 21st, at the Hillsborough Funeral Home, 796 US-206, Hillsborough, NJ, 08844. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 22nd, at St. Joseph's Church, 34 Yorktown Road, Borough of Millstone, Hillsborough, NJ 08844. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The National Space Society (NSS), P.O.
