Our deepest sympathies to all of the family - we have been out of touch for sometime but I happen to search for Roe today & saw this announcement. Chick was like a father to me at a very crucial period of my life. I will always remember his positive attitude, caring nature, love of family & great sense of humor. Our prayers are with all of you.

Please touch base when you are feeling up to it. God bless.

I remember Chick as being very interested in everyone around him. He always had a joke to tell, and would recount his stories with much gusto. He was a man of great conviction who stood firm on his beliefs. He would not be swayed if an idea was important to him.
Chick had great devotion to his Rosie. On one occasion he pointed to
Rose and said, "That's my lady." He had a gleam in his eye and pride on his face as he said it. Chick was an icon in his circle of friends.
He was known throughout the area, but his most famous role was that of Santa Claus. Every year the children around Rockview Ave. in North Plainfield were treated to a visit with Santa as he held court in Rose's living room. He could also be seen in the presence of his good friend Luke as the two strolled the streets in perfect dog to man companionship. These are my memories of a wonderful man--Alfred Dixon. He contributed greatly to my understanding of how things work. His death is a loss to all who knew him. My condolences go out to his friends and family. I will remember him always.
